The Florida Heat are more than a professional softball team — we are a family. And as we prepare for an exciting 2026 season, we are inviting our community to play a vital role in our journey: becoming a Host Family for one of our players.

This is more than providing a room. It’s providing support. Stability. Encouragement. And a home away from home.

Why Host Families Matter

Professional athletes may look strong and confident on the field — and they are — but many of our players relocate far from home to chase their dreams. They leave behind their families, their routines, and their comfort zones to compete at the highest level.

A host family becomes:

• A safe place after long practices

• A dinner table where stories are shared

• A support system during tough losses

• A celebration space after big wins

• A reminder that they are more than just athletes

For many players, the bond with a host family lasts far beyond a single season.

What Hosting Looks Like

Opening your home doesn’t require luxury — just love.

Host families typically provide:

• A private bedroom

• Access to a bathroom

• A welcoming and supportive environment

• Encouragement throughout the season

• Season would run from May-Mid August (Playoffs)

• Ideal location would be within 20 miles of the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, FL 

Our athletes are disciplined, respectful, and committed to their sport and community. They understand responsibility and represent the Florida Heat organization with integrity.
