A team built to endure seasons of life: The 2026 Viera Hawks Varsity Softball Team
There was a season that didn’t look like it was going to make it.
Not on paper.
Not in the stands.
Not even in the dugout some days.
It was a high school varsity softball team that had every reason to fall apart. Players left. Some quit, and others doubted. The outside noise got louder with day that passed, every mistake, every moment that didn’t go their way.
People started writing their story for them.

“They’re done.”
“They don’t have enough.”
“They can’t compete.”
But there was coaches—and a group of girls—who refused to quit on each other.
Not because it was easy.
But because they believed something deeper was being built.
Every practice became a decision. Show up or fold.
Every game became a test. Fight or fade.
And slowly… something started to change.
Not the record right away. Not the rankings.
But the spirit.
They started playing for each other.
They started laughing again.
They started believing again.
And that’s when it hit:
This wasn’t just softball anymore.
This was faith in motion.
Because the Bible never promises easy seasons—it promises purpose through them.
It says in James 1:12,
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life…”
That team was in a trial.
Not just on the field—but in their hearts.
And quitting would’ve been the easy way out.
But then there’s Galatians 6:9:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
If we do not give up.
That became their identity.
They weren’t the veteran like team because they were young, very young.
They weren’t the deepest roster due to lack of High School experience.
They weren’t the loudest because this was a new setting.
But they were the ones who stayed.
Stayed when others left.
Stayed when it hurt.
Stayed when nobody was clapping.
And in that staying… God did something bigger than wins and losses.
He built character.
He built unity.
He built resilience that no scoreboard could measure.
Because the lesson wasn’t about a championship.
It was about this:
You don’t quit on what God has placed in your life—especially people.
Not when it’s inconvenient.
Not when it’s uncomfortable.
Not when it doesn’t look like it’s working.
Because sometimes the greatest victories don’t come from dominating…
They come from enduring.
Just like it says in Romans 5:3–4:
“We glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
That team didn’t just play a season.
They lived a message:
Don’t quit. Not on your team. Not on your calling. Not on what God is doing—especially when you can’t see it yet.
Because the harvest always comes…
to the ones who stay.
The next step for this group of underclassmen... The 2026 Florida High School Athletic Association 6A Softball Playoffs as the #6 Seed in the Region. In 2025 Viera was the #6 Seed therefore maintaining the same spot with a different roster is beyond impressive for this young group.
